In the first nine months of 2021, 1.2 million foreign tourists visited Uzbekistan. This news was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Uzbekistan.
The ministry said it earned $273 million from tourism services.
In 2021, the tourist flow exceeded expectations in some Western Europe, America and CIS countries. Tourist flows to India, Japan, China and Southeast Asia decreased. The main reason for this is the restrictions imposed by the pandemic.
In addition, Uzbekistan reportedly allocated 6.5 billion sum (more than $600,000) in the first nine months of this year to support its tourism business.
