Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover with Turkmenistan in the first month of 2022 amounted to $26.3 million, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said in its report published on Monday.
In January of this year, Uzbekistan imported $19 million worth of Turkmen products. At the same time, the country’s exports to Turkmenistan amounted to $7.4 million.
Uzbekistan's total foreign trade turnover in January neared $3.5 billion, which, compared to the same period in 2021, increased by $1.16 billion, or 49.9%.
Over the first month of this year, the largest volume of Uzbekistan's foreign trade was carried out with China – $621 million, with exports amounting to $157.1 million, and imports – $463.8 million.
Other main partners of Uzbekistan by trade turnover during the period are Russia ($573.3 million), Kazakhstan ($266.8 million), Turkey ($266.1 million), Korea ($213.4 million), Kyrgyzstan ($60.3 million), Ukraine ($48.9 million), Germany ($45.3 million), India ($44.5 million) and Tajikistan ($43.1 million).
In 2021, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan amounted to $881.9 million, which is 61% more compared to 2020.
