It was decided to build a single international airport for Andijan, Namangan and Fergana regions in the Fergana Valley, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reports.

It is reported that airports located in the Fergana Valley in Andijan, Namangan and Fergana regions cannot expand due to dense urban developments. This is due to the fact that airports are located within cities, so it was decided to build a new international airport in the Fergana Valley.

"It is proposed to build a new international airport, which will be unified for all three regions (Andijan, Namangan and Fergana regions)," the press service reports.

It is also planned to build new passenger terminals at the airports of Bukhara and Urgench. A regional low-cost airline will even be created.

It is emphasized that the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the projects in the air transport infrastructure and instructed to expand the list, as well as improve the quality of services provided at airports. In addition, Mirziyoyev instructed to ensure the availability of air ticket prices.
