Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover with Turkmenistan in the January-April period of 2022 amounted to $254.5 million, a decrease of 4.3% compared to the same period of last year, according to the report published by the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan on Friday.
During the first four months of this year, Uzbekistan imported $205.3 million worth of Turkmen products. At the same period, the country’s exports to Turkmenistan amounted to $49.2 million. Turkmenistan is listed among the top ten trading partners of Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan's total foreign trade turnover during the four-month period exceeded $17.16 billion, which, compared to the same period in 2021, is an increase of $6.5 billion, or 61.2%.
Over the period, Uzbekistan traded the most with China – more than $3.1 billion, with its imports nearing $2.3 billion, and exports – $826.3 million.
Other main partners of Uzbekistan by trade turnover during the period are Russia (more than $2.5 billion), Kazakhstan (more than $1.4 billion), Turkey (more than $1.15 billion), Korea ($912.1 million), Germany ($452.1 million), Kyrgyzstan ($323.2 million), Afghanistan ($238.9 million) and India ($211.4 million).
In 2021, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan amounted to $881.9 million, which is 61% more compared to 2020.
