Uzbekistan GTL plant has officially released the first batch of synthetic oil in the history of the petrochemical industry of Uzbekistan. This is reported by the press service of Uzbekneftegaz.
"This event is a new technological stage in the development of the modern petrochemical and oil and gas processing industry of the Republic, and this day is symbolically considered a historic day — the production of synthetic liquid fuel has been established in Uzbekistan for the first time," the message says.
The company said that the production of synthesis gas necessary for the production of synthetic oil was fully launched at the plant on June 14. On the night of June 15, he was first sent to the Fischer-Tropsch reactors, a plant for the production of synthetic liquid. The analysis of the obtained substance confirmed that synthetic oil was formed in the reactor.
Now synthetic oil is stored in a tank of intermediate products. In the future, it is used for the production of synthetic diesel fuel, jet fuel, naphtha and liquefied gas.
The press service of Uzbekeneftegaz stressed that "the entire key process of commissioning, ensuring the synchronous operation of about 11 thousand units of equipment and key production units of the entire plant, as well as their full control and management is carried out by engineers and young specialists of the Uzbekistan GTL plant independently, without the direct participation of foreign specialists."
The plant for the production of synthetic fuel (GTL process means gas to liquid) — Uzbekistan GTL — was launched on December 25, 2021 with the participation of the country's president Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It occupies 135 hectares of Kashkadarya region. There are similar large complexes in only four countries of the world — Qatar, Nigeria, South Africa and Malaysia.
