On Monday, September 19, a pilot launch of a container train on the new transit route Kashgar-Osh-Andijan-Galaba-Hairaton (China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Afghanistan) started. This is reported by the press service of Uzbekistan Temir Yullari.

The first train consisting of 12 units of 40-foot containers set off on the route from Uzbekistan. The cargo included food products, household appliances and products for the needs of the national economy.

The goods were formed into containers by the Chinese side, and at the Osh station (Kyrgyzstan) these containers were loaded onto fitting platforms belonging to Uzbekistan.

According to approximate calculations, only in the direction of Afghanistan on this multimodal route, the volume of cargo transportation will be more than 4 thousand containers per year.

It is noted that a 70% discount will be applied to the transportation of goods on the territory of Uzbekistan, up to 50% on the territory of other countries of the multimodal corridor.

Cargo transportation along this corridor is carried out from Kashgar railway station in China to Osh railway station in Kyrgyzstan by road and from Osh station through Uzbekistan to Mazar-I-Sharif station in Afghanistan by rail.
