Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Mahkamov during his speech at an international conference in Tajikistan proposed launching a new transport corridor from China, as well as simplifying the processes of crossing checkpoints in Central Asia for cargo transportation, Podrobno.uz reported.

The multimodal transport and logistics corridor "China - Kyrgyzstan / Tajikistan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Iran - Turkey - Europe" will be created.

Each country must act in a coordinated manner to implement this initiative, so it is necessary to create a permanent working group from the participating countries and hold the first meeting in Tashkent, Mahkamov said.

Testing of the E-PERMIT electronic system with Turkey has already begun in Uzbekistan, and the use of the E-TIR electronic book has been fully introduced with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

Mahkamov also proposed to simplify crossing border checkpoints and obtaining a visa during international cargo transportation, to optimize and reduce payments and fees.
