Today, on 6 February, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan between Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mahkamov expressed deep condolences to the Ambassador in connection with the natural disaster in Turkey, which resulted in the death and injury of thousands of people.
At the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the increase in the volume of freight and passenger traffic, the development of trade and economic ties by further strengthening cooperation between two countries in the field of transport.
Ambassador Olgan Bekar highly appreciated the level of cooperation between countries in the field of transport. The parties emphasized that today there are 56 regular flights a week between the cities of Uzbekistan and Turkey, a system of electronic exchange of permit forms in the field of cargo transportation by road e-Permit has been launched.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on increasing the volume of freight and passenger traffic by all modes of transport, creating more favorable conditions for visiting various regions of two countries by domestic and foreign tourists.
In particular, the parties agreed to continue joint work on organizing a regular meeting between the aviation authorities of the two countries and developing new alternative transport corridors.
In conclusion, the parties identified the tasks that will be further implemented within the framework of the considered areas of cooperation.
