Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Abdusamat Muminov held a meeting with Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Rovshan Rustamov during his visit to Azerbaijan on Monday.

"The parties considered the possibilities of cooperation between the two countries in the field of railways, new proposals for cooperation within the framework of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor, including the multimodal transport route CASCA+," the message says.

According to the company, Rustamov and Muminov also discussed a joint action plan for 2023, including cargo transportation on the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia route, types of transportation and the corresponding tariff policy.

The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, known as the "Middle Corridor", is an international transport corridor that runs through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and further to Turkey and European countries. The implementation of the project began in 2013. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is part of the corridor that allows reducing the time of cargo delivery from China to Europe by three times.
