President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on investment, export and international cooperation on March 27. The Head of State said that in recent years the volume of exports in the country has doubled. This was reported to CentralAsia.News in the press service of the government of Uzbekistan.
In addition, the number of exporting enterprises has grown from 4.5 thousand to 7.3 thousand in recent years. More than 16 thousand foreign enterprises are also registered in the country; investments from abroad have appeared in almost every city and district.
The Uzbek authorities plan to master $11 billion of foreign investment in 2023 and introduce 12,000 new initiatives in the regions worth $23 billion. The report of responsible persons on the work done at the meeting also mentions that since the beginning of the year, 764 million dollars of foreign investment has been disbursed.
