President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who is on a state visit to China, launched 15 new production facilities in the country by pressing a symbolic button on May 19, the press service of the head of state reported.
One of them is the automobile plant of the Chinese brand EXEED, located in the Syr Darya, representatives of the enterprise told Gazeta.uz.
The project involves the production of up to 20 thousand cars per year at the assembly stage of components (SKD) and up to 150 thousand cars per year at the full production cycle stage (CKD).
The manufacturer of the EXEED brand in Uzbekistan is Asaka Motors. The cost of the project is $ 390 million.
“The new plant will use modern technologies and progressive production methods, which will make it possible to produce high-quality and competitive products,” said Akramjon Tukhtabayev, General Director of Asaka Motors, in his speech.
Among other projects launched today by the president are enterprises for the production of cars and electric vehicles, construction materials, metal products and rolled products, medical supplies with a total value of $ 3.3 billion.
