The regular meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan was held in Shusha city on July 18. The event was held under the leadership of Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan.
One of the key issues discussed at the meeting was the growth of trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. Last year this indicator increased by 1.5 times, and since the beginning of 2023 it has already increased by 16%. Both countries have the potential to further increase the volume of trade turnover, and the meeting expressed an ambitious plan to reach the mark of 1 billion dollars.
The meeting was attended by ministers, heads of departments, industry associations, educational institutions and commercial banks of both countries, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions.
As a result of the meeting, a protocol was signed, as well as several agreements and memorandums consolidating the agreements reached.
