The delegation of JSC "Uzbekistan Temir Yollari" visited Astana and held negotiations with representatives of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy", where they discussed issues of productive cooperation and reached a number of other agreements.
The negotiations led by H. Rahmetov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC "Uzbekistan Temir Yollari" and B. Urynbasarov, General Director of Production Processes of JSC "N. C. "Kazakhstan Temir Joly".
First of all, the parties noted the well-coordinated joint work over the past 8 months, which resulted as an increase in the volume of cargo transportation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. In particular, there was a high growth and positive trend of import to Kazakhstan from Uzbekistan of chemical and mineral fertilizers, fruits and dried fruits, cars, their spare parts and others. Also, there was a stable exchange of trains during past 8 months.
Also, in order to increase trade turnover between the countries and form new supply chains of fresh fruit and vegetable products, the parties agreed to make joint efforts to organize an end-to-end train consisting of refsections, which will run from Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan, as well as to use refsections to export fruit and vegetable products from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan. In addition, the parties agreed to send refsections from Uzbekistan to Russia via Kazakhstan.
As a result of the negotiations, a protocol which commits to timely and effectively implement the agreements between the parties was signed. The parties also decided to resume quarterly bilateral meetings to summarize results and discuss plans for the coming period.
