The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in Kazan. They exchanged views on the state and prospects of cooperation between the parties, reports the office of the President of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, Mirziyoyev expressed his satisfaction with the high level of bilateral relations in recent years, noting that the volume of trade and investment between the parties is gradually increasing, and a number of joint investment projects have been successfully completed.
The outcomes of the Third Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia, held on the previous day in the city of Kazan were noted. Particularly, agreements on creating new industrial parks in cooperation with the Russian technoparks in the regions of Uzbekistan were on the focus.
The issues of the implementation of prospective cooperation projects in metalworking, the field of information and communication, housing and communal services as well as expanding cooperation in the spheres of education, tourism and youth policy were discussed.
Following the meeting, an agreement on the promotion of practical partnership projects in key areas on the basis of joint "road maps" was reached.
As part of his official visit to the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the exhibition of the industrial potential of Tatarstan at the “Kazan Expo” Center in Kazan, got acquainted with the industrial products and technologies of leading enterprises, visited the Kazan Kremlin and the Kul Sharif Mosque.
