Turkish company Cengiz Enerji San. ve Tic A.Ş. will build a combined cycle power plant with a capacity of 550 MW in Jizzakh region.

On 8 November, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On measures to implement the investment project “Construction of a combined cycle power plant with a capacity of 550 MW in Jizzakh region.”

Cengiz Energy San. ve Tic A.Ş. is an investor in the project. Cenergo is the project company. In August 2023, it was reported that the facility’s capacity would be 500 MW. The presidential resolution states that the power plant’s capacity will be 550 MW.

The document notes that the volume of direct investment in this project will exceed US$500 million. The new power plant will be commissioned in 2025. The station will produce more than 4 billion kWh of electricity per year. Also, the commissioning of this facility will save 700 million cubic meters of gas.

The power plant will be built in Sharaf Rashidov district of Jizzakh region. A land plot of 9.54 hectares will be allocated for the project.
