On December 25, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting on the development of the electrical, chemical and pharmaceutical industries in Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, existing shortcomings in these three spheres were critically analyzed and urgent tasks were identified. The head of state announced the launch of 24 new projects in these sectors, the total value of the initiatives will be 12.7 billion dollars. This was reported to CentralAsia.News by the press service of the President of the Republic.

The successes in the country's industry over the past five years speak of the structural transformations carried out in the republic. As a result, it was possible to increase production in the chemical, pharmaceutical and electrical engineering spheres by 2.6 times. In addition, significant progress has been made in the production of new products, and exports of Uzbek products amounted to 1.6 billion dollars. Despite this, the development path is still underway, as the share of domestic products in the domestic market does not exceed 50% in electrical engineering, 40% in chemical industry and 18% in pharmaceuticals.
