The first meeting of representatives of railway administrations of countries participating in the multimodal transport corridor was held in Istanbul. Important issues related to the development of this transport route were discussed at the meeting.

At the meeting in Istanbul, the main topic of discussion was the introduction of competitive tariffs for rail transportation and increasing the volume of cargo transportation. During the discussion, the parties came to a consensus that establishing affordable and competitive prices for transportation contributes to the growth in the volume of transportation of goods and cargo.

A corresponding Protocol was also signed between the railway administrations of the participating countries, which plays an important role in the development of the transport corridor. The document confirms the agreement of all parties to cooperate and joint efforts for the successful implementation of the project.

The protocol on the formation of the transport corridor “Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Iran – Turkey” was signed within the framework of the 12th meeting of the ministers of transport of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization.

The development of this multimodal transport route will help strengthen economic ties and expand trade potential between Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Turkey, and will also improve the accessibility and efficiency of transport in the region, contributing to economic development and strengthening cooperation between countries.
