A meeting was held between Ilkhom Norkulov, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, and Ahmet Serdar Ibrahimcioglu, President of Türkiye’s Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization (KOSGEB).
During the meeting, participants exchanged views on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), enhancing industrial policy, and identifying priority areas for cooperation. They noted that active collaboration with Türkiye spans multiple sectors of the economy, and consultations on current and future projects are of significant importance.
The discussion also covered the work done and the results achieved in recent years in supporting SMEs in Uzbekistan, emphasizing the need to further improve these efforts by leveraging Turkish experience.
Additionally, it was highlighted that Uzbekistan has high potential in the services sector, including tourism, and the importance of expanding opportunities for representatives of small and medium-sized businesses in this area was underlined.
Considering Türkiye’s experience, participants pointed out the availability of opportunities in six sectors, such as furniture manufacturing, eco-friendly building materials, and pharmaceuticals.
Moreover, an agreement was reached to widely apply modern IT solutions for analyzing the development processes of economic entities, as well as to organize experience exchange events between specialists from both countries in this sector.
