Since the beginning of 2024, solar and wind power plants in Uzbekistan have produced 4 billion kWh of electricity, according to data from the Ministry of Energy.

Currently, Uzbekistan operates 9 solar photovoltaic stations with a total capacity of 2.7 GW and one wind power station located across 7 regions, producing eco-friendly "green" energy.

Out of the total generation, solar power stations contributed 3 billion 493.6 million kWh, while the wind power station generated 506.4 million kWh.

These plants generated 1 billion kWh of electricity by 31 May, 1.6 billion kWh in the first half of the year, 2 billion kWh by 17 July, and reached 3 billion kWh by 30 August 2024.

The cumulative output has saved 1.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas and prevented the emission of 1 million 680 thousand tons of harmful gases into the atmosphere. This amount of electricity corresponds to a 10-month social norm for 2 million households or a yearly norm for 1 million 666 thousand households.

Additionally, it is noteworthy that solar photovoltaic stations in Navoi and Samarkand regions generated 434 million kWh in 2022 and 576.9 million kWh in 2023.

According to the Statistics Agency, a total of 60.31 billion kWh of electricity was produced in the first nine months of 2024, representing a 4.32% increase compared to the same period last year.
