For the first time in its history, Uzbekistan’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has surpassed US$100 billion. This announcement was made by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 20 November during his address to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, where he presented key government tasks for the next five years.

According to the President, the country’s GDP has doubled over the past five years. Exports also reached a record level, exceeding US$25 billion for the first time, compared to US$24.4 billion last year.

It is expected that GDP per capita will soon reach US$3,000. According to World Bank projections, Uzbekistan will be among the top three countries in Europe and Central Asia for economic growth in 2024.

The President emphasized that the growth of foreign investments, which has increased sixfold over the past five years, played a crucial role in the country’s economic development. With the active support of international partners, approximately 1.5 million high-paying jobs were created, contributing to the strengthening of socio-economic stability.
