Tajikistan is planning to allocate more than 915.4 million somoni ($ 97 million) from the state budget for the development of agriculture, fishing and hunting this year.

According to the Ministry of Finance of the Tajikistan, this amount also includes the implementation of investment projects in these areas.

İn order to ensure the development of agriculture and the protection of food security, more than 12 billion somoni was allocated from the state budget during the independence period through the implementation of state investment projects.

Over the past 10 years, the volume of agricultural production has tripled, that is, from 7.4 billion somoni in 2000 to 21.3 billion somoni in 2018.

According to statistics, in recent years only 10-12 percent of cotton fiber has been processed within the country. In 2018, exports of cotton fiber doubled compared with the previous year.

Last year the amount of cotton fiber exports was about $ 150 million.
