According to Federal State Statistics Service Tajikistan has become the main migratory donor to Russia for the first time.
Migration flow from Tajikistan exceeded 31 thousand people. Every fourth legal immigrant arrived to Russia from Tajikistan in 2018. In second place is Kazakhstan (about 26.5 thousand). Ukraine is in the third place (more than 14.8 thousand). Compared to 2017, the influx from the Ukraine decreased by three times. Ukraine has been the leader in the number of migrants who arrived in Russia for four years, since 2014.
Uzbekistan still leads in the number of migrants staying in Russia. According to the Interior Ministry, 4.5 million citizens of Uzbekistan were put on migration registration, and 3.25 million were deregistered in 2018. In second place are the citizens of Tajikistan: 2.33 million people were registered, 1.33 million were deregistered.
