According to the Tajikistan Electricity Authority, In January-October 2019, Tajikistan exported a total of $ 89 million to Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The amount of electricity exported to its neighbouring countries in the first ten months of this year increased by 21% compared to the corresponding period of last year.

Between January and October, Tajikistan generated $ 89 million in revenue from its 3 billion kilowatt-hour (kwh) electricity exports to neighboring countries. In the given period, electricity production in Tajikistan increased by 5.2% compared to the same period of the previous year to 17 billion kilowatt hours (kwh).

By the end of this year, Tajikistan plans to export a total of 3.5 billion kilowatt hours of electricity to neighboring countries. Afghanistan pays 4.11 cents and Uzbekistan pays 2 cents for 1 kilowatt-hour of electricity sold by Tajikistan.

Last year, Tajikistan generated 19.7 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, generating $ 77 million in revenue from its exports of 2.4 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity  to Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
