According to the press center of the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan, almost 400 thousand tons of cotton and 858.4 thousand tons of grain crops were harvested this year, reported by the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) on Friday.
“This year, cotton was sown on an area of 185 thousand 670 hectares, as of November 25, 398 thousand 380 tons of cotton were harvested in the country, the Ministry of Agriculture reports.
According to the source, the collection of raw cotton exceeds by 110 thousand 434 tons than the collection of last year, . It is noted that the yield of this crop per hectare averaged 2.2 tonne.
In addition, according to the latest information from the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan, as of November 22, 2019 approximately 858.4 thousand tons of grain harvest was announced. It is stated that the total grain harvest rate in 2019 is 148 thousand 408 tons more than the harvest rate in 2018. For the harvest of autumn 2020 grains, 109 thousand 103 hectares of cultivation area was reported. Thus, 70% of the 2020 grain harvest plan has already been implemented.
