This year Tajikistan plans to import natural gas from Uzbekistan in the amount of 200 million cubic meters.
As the first deputy of Tajiktransgaz Shavkat Shoimov said at a meeting with reporters on Monday in Dushanbe, the head of Tajiktransgaz is currently in Uzbekistan to resolve this issue.
According to Shavkat Shoimov, last year Tajikistan imported 140 million cubic meters of Uzbek gas. Natural gas received numerous large, medium-sized enterprises and workshops. The amount of natural gas imports amounted to more than $ 17.7 million.
In 2018, this figure was 54 million cubic meters of gas worth $ 6.9 million.
It is noted that among the major consumers of imported natural gas are the Dushanbe CHPP-1 and the aluminum company Talco.
