China is leading in terms of direct investment in Tajikistan's economy in 2019. This was stated by the head of the state Committee on Investment and State Property Management of Tajikistan Farrukh Hamralizoda, the Avesta Agency reports.

According to him, in 2019, Tajikistan received foreign investments in the amount of about 346 million US dollars, which is 6% more than in 2018.

China is the leader in terms of direct investment in Tajikistan. The total amount of Chinese direct investment in 2019 was $ 262.3 million.

The volume of Russian direct investment amounted to $ 33.1 million. The UK accounts for -13.9 million dollars. The share of Turkish investments in the Tajik economy was 13.5 million dollars.

The head of GosKomInvest also noted that last year seven investment agreements were signed, the implementation of which provides for the creation of eight new production enterprises. The amount of these investment agreements is about 2.4 billion somoni ($247.6 million).

In total, 65 state investment projects are currently being implemented in Tajikistan, the total amount of which is 32.1 billion somoni (more than $ 3.3 billion). Over 3 billion somoni were spent on them last year.

These projects are being implemented in various areas of the Tajik economy. As a percentage of the total amount of financing, 52.6% or 16.9 billion are credit funds.
