The Turkish Agency for Сooperation and Сoordination (TIKA) has provided assistance to Tajikistan to combat a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

The cargo of medical supplies, including 70 thousand protective masks and 1000 protective coveralls, was transferred to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the population of the Republic of Tajikistan.
First Deputy Minister of Health and Social protection of the Republic of Tajikistan Saida Umarzoda gave a high assessment of the humanitarian policy of Ankara.
Umarzoda noted that TIKA has implemented many projects in Tajikistan, including the creation of a rehabilitation center for people with disabilities, the renovation of the children's infectious diseases Department of the Central hospital of Tursunzade and a modern diabetes School.
According to her, medical supplies will make a significant contribution to Tajikistan's fight against the pandemic.
The Deputy Minister said that the cargo of medical aid from Turkey will be distributed among medical workers, as well as customs officers who are at risk.
