According to the news of the Tajik Presidency press service, 16 new cooperation documents were signed by Presidents of Tajikistan and Iran Emomali Rahmon and Sayyid Ibrahim Raisi in Tehran on May 30. Rahmon emphasized that the agreements will expand relations between the republics in various sectors.

The documents cover such areas of cooperation as industry, new technologies, museum work, investments, sports, social protection, international trucking, environmental protection, tourism, science, and geodesy.

Officials of the two countries signed a long-term program of cooperation in trade and economic fields from 2022 to 2030. An agreement was also signed on the establishment of a joint business council, a memorandum on the establishment of a Tajik-Iranian investment committee and a joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Within the framework of the above documents, the structure of trade between the republics will be improved. The Tajik side pointed out the importance of holding more product exhibitions and business forums. The country also expressed interest in using the ports of Chehbahar and Bandar Abbas to transport its goods to foreign markets.
