On June 16, on the sidelines of the Second Regional Summit on Sustainable Development Goals, the Head of the Executive Body of the state Authority of Tajikistan, Kohir Rasulzoda, met with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, in Almaty. The parties discussed trade cooperation, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kazakhstan reports.

First of all, the officials raised the topic of interaction between the republics within the framework of international and regional structures. Particular attention was paid to the importance of establishing mutual understanding against the background of the coronavirus pandemic.

It was noted that by the end of last year, the volume of mutual trade between the countries exceeded 1.1 billion US dollars. Smailov stressed that in the future the trade turnover should be increased to 2 billion US dollars. According to him, the states have all the necessary resources for this.

During the talks, emphasis was also placed on the creation of joint ventures in the agro-industrial complex, cooperation of Central Asian states in the industrial and water spheres.
