On Sunday in New Delhi, the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov took part in the third Central Asia-India Dialogue.

The meeting was attended by the Ministers of External Affairs of India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Participants highly appreciated the role of the Central Asia-India Dialogue as an effective platform for strengthening multifaceted cooperation and exchanging views on various regional and international issues of mutual interest. The parties also stressed that this format of cooperation contributes to regional peace, security, stability, sustainable economic growth, as well as prosperity in the region, according to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan noted the consistent development of cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and India in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. He also noted that there is great potential for cooperation, primarily in such sectors of pharmaceuticals, information technology, agriculture, energy and the textile industry.

After exchanging views on the situation in Afghanistan, the Foreign Ministers reaffirmed their support for the peaceful, secure and stable development of the country, while stressing the need to respect sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity and non-interference in its internal affairs.

The second India-Central Asia Dialogue was held via video link in October last year.
