Ashgabat and Tehran plan to increase the volume of Turkmen gas supplied to Azerbaijan via Iran to 15 billion cubic meters per year.

This, among other issues of cooperation in the energy sector, was discussed today in Tehran by the delegations of Turkmenistan and Iran, Trend reports referring to Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oudzhi.

According to Oudzhi, a package of documents on cooperation in the field of energy will be signed between the countries in the coming days.

Recall that on November 28 last year in Ashgabat, within the framework of the 15th summit of the heads of states - members of the Economic Cooperation Organization, Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkmenistan signed a trilateral agreement on swap gas supplies.  According to the terms of the contract, from 1.5 to 2 billion cubic meters of gas will be supplied from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan through Iran annually.
