Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan will pay a working visit to Pakistan's capital Islamabad from January 30 to February 4 for talks on joint energy projects.

The decree on the dispatch of the Turkmen official to Islamabad for talks was signed by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the online cabinet meeting on Friday.

The Turkmen Deputy Foreign Minister will hold talks on the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line projects with the relevant official and specialists of Pakistan in this area in Islamabad.

Turkmenistan is currently implementing joint projects such as the TAPI gas pipeline and the TAP power transmission and fiber-optic communication lines.

Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in a telephone conversation on Monday practical issues of implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline and the TAP power transmission and fiber-optic communication lines.

The senior Afghan delegation in talks with Turkmen officials in mid-January in Ashgabat agreed to resume work on the TAPI gas pipeline project in March.
