It is planned to build a terminal for transshipment of mineral fertilizers in the Baku port (Azerbaijan) by the beginning of 2023. This is reported by the Report agency with reference to the head of the common cargo terminal of the Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC Kamran Jalili.

The terminal will handle 3 million tons of cargo annually and 600 tons per hour.

According to Jalili, it is planned to import sulfur, carbamide and ammonium nitrate fertilizers from Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, to the port.

On July 25, 2020, an agreement was reached between the Baku International Sea Trade Port and the Turkish Albayrak Group of companies on the construction of a fertilizer terminal.

Currently, the port has four terminals (three in Alat and one oil terminal in Dubendi).
