Turkmenistan has proposed Kazakhstan to consider opening trade houses in the border regions of the country. According to the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Thursday, Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, Begench Gochmollayev, proposed this idea during his meeting with Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Arman Shakkaliev, in Astana.
During the meeting, the ministers agreed to make maximum efforts to ensure further trade growth and maintain its positive dynamics. Shakkaliev stated that Turkmenistan's market presents a significant interest for the export of Kazakhstan's processed products, with the potential to increase exports to Turkmenistan estimated at $120.3 million.
The Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, in turn, emphasized readiness to increase the trade turnover between the two countries.
"Given the importance of developing trade and economic ties between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan's export credit agency (KazakhExport) is ready to support Turkmen partners in long-term trade financing and trade supply insurance," said Arman Shakkaliev.
The meeting emphasized that Kazakhstan is ready to establish supplies of railway engineering products and other high-tech products under KazakhExport's insurance coverage.
Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan continue to strengthen cooperation in all areas based on mutual benefit and trust, the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan noted.
